BICE takes part in a partnership with DDE-CI (Dignity and Rights for Children in Ivory Coast) to support the activities of the rescue center - Centre Sauvetage (CS) - in Abidjan, in its program against mistreatment. For a year now, almost 400 children from the town of Asunción in Paraguay have been part of a project led in partnership with the association Callescuela. The cornerstone of this project is education and academic support.

Stefan Vanistendael, responsible of BICE research and development unit, recently led a half-day of reflection on the resilience of students coming from difficult backgrounds. Sixty teachers, managers, and directors of scholarly establishments participated in the conference, which was followed by workshops. It was organized in Manchester, UK, on the 15th of February. The half-day was led by Stefan Vanistendael, organized by the Mancep (Manchester Catholic Education Partnership) and was about resilience. This network of Catholic scholarly establishments of the Manchester region includes a dozen institutions, representing one thousand teachers, educators, and directors, and around 10,000 students. In this bulletin, follow the news of the program and learn about the work accomplished in 9 countries in Africa and Latin America, supporting educational, socio-professional and familial rehabilitation for children in conflict with the law. Organized by BICE, the program "Childhood without bars" has brought together 6 Latin American organizations, who have been working with BICE on juvenile justice for the past three years, as well as 4 African countries. The 22nd session of the Human Rights Council is taking place from 25 February to 22 March at the Palace of Nations in Geneva. The agenda grants a preferred place to the Rights of the Child. For the fifth time, the Human Rights Council will hold an annual meeting to discuss the Rights of the Child under the theme of: the right for a child to be as healthy as possible using texts as reference.
