The international Congress of BICE was the perfect occasion to underline once more that the right to education should apply to all children, with no discrimination or exclusion. This right is entitled to children by official texts ratified by almost every country in the world and it is high time they started implementing it.

Paris, November 20th, 2010: BICE launches the documentary film festival « Enfances dans le monde »
On Universal Children’s Day, BICE launches a new documentary film festival called « Enfances dans le Monde ». This festival, open to a large audience, seeks to show lives of children whose human rights are fundamentally violated. Two round tables with debates are proposed and an informal space will be open during the festival.

Paris, September 20th, 2009: BICE regrets the suppression of the Defender of children
France wishes to suppress the institution of the Defender of children and to incorporate a part of these functions to a new Defender of the rights. However, a part of the missions will not be transferred, so BICE reckons that important matters may not be dealt with.
