The statutes constitute the foundation of any French association. They are written freely, with respect for the laws in force. The statutes may be modified and each association shall determine the procedure to approve changes.
For BICE, amendments may be proposed by the Board of Directors or by two-thirds of the full members. Thereafter, the General Assembly will reach a decision on the proposed amendments.
The present BICE statutes, adopted in 2009, specify the framework of our organization at all levels.
They focus particularly on:
- The legal form
- The purpose of the association
- The network of members
- Statutory bodies
- Resource management
- Official languages: French, English, Spanish
They also state that our Charter, presented in annexed, forms an integral part of the statutes.
