in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) remains mixed. For example, the right to education
is widely respected: between 95% and 100% of children are educated in this area (source: UNICEF). In contrast, abuse, sexual abuse and non-support of children with disabilities are still too common.
The States have ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child
and for the past fifteen years, they have implemented more social policies to improve the protection of the child. Despite these efforts, the situation of the rights of the child remains alarming in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States. ::/description::
