Olivier Duval’s Biography, President of BICE

Olivier Duval has been President of BICE since 2013. He was elected at the General Assembly on June 24, 2013 and replaced Mr.Yves-Marie Lanoë.

An International Career

After training as an engineer in France, Olivier Duval spent his career with the international industrial group, Saint-Gobain. He worked in operations management for over 30 years.

Olivier Duval’s professional responsibilities led him to travel extensively, exploring different cultures and ways of life. This interaction with people from very different backgrounds gave him an understanding of the universality of children’s rights while respecting the individuality of each local context.

Olivier Duval considers that he has been fortunate in life. Although retired, he is committed to bringing his talents and experience to BICE with humility and generosity, values which are consistent with his Christian faith.

During his presidency, Olivier Duval is devoted to strengthening our current actions, and extending the reach of our international network for the cause of the rights of the child.

Functions of the Presidenct of BICE

The office term of president is 4 years; thereafter, it can be renewed four times for a period of 2 years each. The president of BICE represents the association and is responsible for overseeing its management in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Board of Directors.
